Feeding our Futures is a part of Healthy Eating-Healthy Action (HEHA), the Ministry of Health’s strategic approach to improving nutrition, increasing physical activity and achieving healthy weight for all New Zealanders. When good nutrition and healthy eating practices are established in childhood, they are more likely to continue into adulthood, promoting positive health and overall wellbeing for the future. Feeding our Futures seeks to help New Zealand parents establish good eating practices for children that will support them in achieving healthy diets as they grow. The programme offers tips and advice for parents that can be carried out regularly at home, and are consistent with the nutrition guidelines and practices being promoted in schools across the country.
